Current Sudbury Line Timetable + Advance Engineering Work Information

The current timetable for the Sudbury Line is valid until the 13th December 2008, you can download a copy from the link below.

If you would like to pick up a hard copy, these can be found in Sudbury in the Tourist Information Office behind the Town Hall, or in Chappel and Wakes Colne in the Reception of the Museum in the former Station building.
You can also pick up copies from certain railway stations on the Mainline

Changes and Updates: The following changes apply to the timetable
The 19:22 and 20:08 services from Sudbury will be request stop at Bures and Chappel and Wakes Colne. If you board these services at Sudbury for Bures or Chappel please tell the Conductor you want to alight at these stations.
If you want to join these services at Bures or Chappel, please stand where you can be seen by the driver and clearly signal that you want the train to stop. The 07:36 from Marks Tey and 16:40 from Sudbury are still non-stop throughout and will not stop at the intermediate stations even on request.

Ticket types have changed, please check with the train operator for more details

Off Peak Restrictions
- Weekdays Only
From Monday 19th May, Saver, Off Peak Day Returns and Off Peak Travelcards will not be valid out of London Liverpool Street, Stratford, Seven Sisters or Tottenham Hale between 16:30 and 18:34 (Easement on the 16:36 for Braintree Branch Passengers).
The last train before the Evening Peak for the Sudbury line is the 16:15 from London to Harwich - connection for the 17:07 Marks Tey to Sudbury
First train after these times for the Sudbury line is 18:38 from London to Clacton on Sea - connection for the 19:45 Marks Tey to Sudbury.

The Easement for travel on the 09:39 towards London for Network Railcard Holders is no longer shown in the fares manual. The first train that a Network Rail Card ticket is valid on is now the 10:00 from Sudbury and 10:23 connection.

There are no restrictions on off-peak or Network Railcard Discounted tickets on Weekends or Bank Holidays.

Engineering Work
Sometimes it is necessary to make changes to the timetable for engineering works, there are no more planned blocks for 2008, however some services may be retimed or terminate short due to works on the mainline, especially weekends, please check with National Express East Anglia for any late changes.

2009
Buses will replace trains between Marks Tey and Sudbury on the following dates:
February: 28th
March: 1st, 7th & 8th, 14th & 15th, 21st & 22nd, 28th & 29th
April: 4th & 5th, 18th & 19th, 25th & 26th.

All of these dates fall on weekends and are in association with Colchester to Clacton resignalling works and Overhead Line Equipment renewals on the mainline.
