Station in Bloom

Each year Anglia In Bloom in association with the Train Operator for the East runs a station in bloom idea, where they send judges to the various stations in the area to judge the flower displays which have been put together, mainly by the station adopters and other volunteers.

Updates from Stations:

Sudbury:

Since the cutting down of the hedge in January by Railscape the earth on this area has been completely turned over and ivy and stumps dug out where possible, a number of plants and other shrubs have been planted. The planters on the fence near the entrance have been replaced and currently the tulips are growing.
Two large containers have been supplied by Sudbury in Bloom at a cost of approx £300 each as well as multiple bags of compost. During April its likely that some large shrubs will be planted along the back of the garden area to help take up some of the space. Sudbury in Bloom are thanked for their continual input and funding, as without them none of this would be happening.

Bures:

Some additional plants have been planted in the area at the Mount Bures end of the station, and more are going to be put in the tub near the front of the waiting hut.

Chappel and Wakes Colne:

No Changes since 2007 noted.

Marks Tey:

The area at the entrance to the station (path towards Ticket Office) has been planed out and there are plans to put in some plants along the back of Platform 1 and refill the tubs on the walls on Platform 2.

More details to be added as the year progresses.
